Add Some to Lose Some
All your life you've been told to lose weight, you'll have to eat less. I say: "Nonsense!"
Eat less of this, don't eat that, eat only 3 of that... the traditional view of dieting is pretty negative. You're not allowed anything (accept death by starvation!) and the things that are allowed are few and tasteless.
But if you really want to speed up your weight loss process, start adding to your menu! Add snacks, add protein, add fun, and yes, even add a few calories.
When you follow a traditional restricting diet, you put your body as well as your mind up for failure right from the start. You're body can't cope with very restricting diets, and it will go into starvation mode. It will try to reserve every last gram of fat that it has, because it will be afraid of not having anything to eat ever again.
You mind goes into very much the same mode. Have you ever noticed how you suddenly feel like eating a very fatty take away pie once you tell yourself that you are on a diet? Even if you never eat take aways or pies, your mind will keep telling you to have one - it too is afraid of starvation.
Your mind is a very powerful tool. Start telling it that you can't have a piece of candy, and it will not take long for it to convince you to have 'just one more'. Start using this amazing power in your weight loss plans. Stop telling yourself that you can't have this and you shouldn't have that. Start telling yourself all the positive thing of dieting.
Start adding snacks to your diet. This will tell your body that there is plenty, and no need for it to panic. Your mind will, after a while, automatically start telling you to stop eating so much - because it'll start feeling like that is all you do all day: just eat, eat, eat.
Don't you think that's the way to go? Your body will be happy with all the food. Your mind will feel as if it can have whatever it wants whenever it wants it. And you'll lose all the pounds you want to because you've fooled your two greatest enemies in weight loss!
